Control logic

Why duty-cycle and autofocus control must be added

The original CO₂ configuration primarily provides laser power and frequency commands. The fiber process also depends on duty cycle, especially during piercing. If energy is delivered too aggressively, piercing can become unstable and create heavy spatter or blowout.

The added touchscreen gives technicians access to duty-cycle settings for piercing, cutting, marking, engraving, and protective-film removal. It also provides manual focus control and a nozzle-centering test for setup and maintenance.

Key point: the retrofit controller allows the original CNC to remain the main machine control while supplying the extra functions required by the fiber laser source and autofocus cutting head.
